Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the Phone Number Sanitizer Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles your information when you use it.

2. Information We Collect

The Extension is designed to operate with minimal data collection.

  • Local Data: The Extension stores your sanitizing rules and export preferences locally on your device (for example, country code, local number length, valid starting digits and output-column choices).
  • File Contents: Excel and CSV files you open are read and processed entirely within your browser. Your phone numbers, cell values and file names never leave your device.
  • Analytics (Optional): If you grant consent, the Extension sends anonymous, non-personal usage events to our analytics service to help improve performance and features. These events contain only counts, on/off flags, category labels, the extension version and a randomly generated device ID — never phone numbers, cell contents, file names or any text from your files.

3. How Information Is Used

Your information is used solely to:

  • Provide and improve the functionality of the Extension
  • Store your preferences and configurations
  • Understand anonymous, aggregate usage so we can improve the tool
  • Enhance user experience

We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.

4. Data Storage

Your sanitizing rules, preferences and the files you process are stored and handled locally in your browser. We do not store your files or their contents on any external server.

If you have enabled analytics, anonymous usage events (as described in Section 2) are transmitted to and stored on our analytics service solely for product-improvement purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you or to reconstruct any phone number or file you processed.

5. Data Sharing

We do not:

  • Sell your data
  • Share your data with third parties
  • Use your data for marketing purposes

6. Permissions

The Extension requests the storage permission strictly to save your settings, your analytics consent choice and an anonymous device ID on your device. This permission is not used for collecting personal data.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

8. Your Control

You have full control over your data:

  • You can turn analytics on or off at any time via Settings → Anonymous usage analytics
  • Turning analytics off stops all data transmission immediately
  • You can modify or delete stored settings at any time
  • You can uninstall the Extension to remove all locally stored data

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the Extension or on the associated website.

10. Contact

If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
