1. Introduction
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the Job Stash - Job Application Tracker Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles your information when you use it.
2. Information We Collect
The Extension is designed to operate with minimal data collection.
- Local Application Data: All job applications you save - including company name, role, status, date, location, job URL, and notes - are stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's local storage. This data never leaves your browser.
- Anonymous Device ID: A randomly generated UUID stored in your browser. This is not linked to your identity, account, or any personal information.
- Feature Usage Events: When you save or update an application, we record anonymous boolean flags only (e.g. has notes, has location). No personal content is ever collected.
- Location: Your approximate location (country and region level only) is inferred from your IP address by our analytics server. We do not store your full IP address.
- Extension Info: Extension version and timestamp. Used for compatibility and bug fixes.
All analytics collection requires your explicit consent during the onboarding screen. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Analytics.
3. How Information Is Used

chrome.storage.localandchrome.storage.sync. - Analytics data (usage events, install events) is sent to our server at
analytics.ninefoldyash.comonly when you have granted consent. - Job descriptions, company names, resume links, notes, and all application content are never transmitted to any server.
5. Analytics Consent
Analytics are strictly opt-in. You are asked for consent when you first install the Extension. You can enable or disable analytics at any time via Settings → Analytics inside the Extension.
